UNICORN CENTRE DRESSAGE CHAMPIONS
17 May 2010, 4:03 PM
The Unicorn Centre is a purpose-built centre providing riding and therapy for the disabled. A lottery grant of £1.16 million funded this state-of-the-art facility which includes indoor and outdoor arenas, integral stabling, and all disabled facilities. It began operating in April 1998 with an official opening by HRH The Princess Royal in November 1998. Over 170 riders use the facilities each week. A new education suite and office was added to the Centre's facilities in 2003. The Centre has no revenue funding and relies entirely on ongoing fundraising and donations to subsidise the cost of providing lessons. Approximately £220,000 per year is required to maintain the existing levels of operation.
A member group of the Riding for the Disabled Association. Registered Charity No 1062577.
